In the comparatively minor role of Daland, the Norse sea captain, Bass Giorgio Tozzi-convincingly costumed in turtleneck sweater, jacket and boots-sang with warm-timbred verve, while Tenor Karl Liebl turned in his best performance of the season as the huntsman Erik.
