Amazingly, Bates and Sandler manage to keep the unoriginal material quite hilarious; but even Sandler's comedic appeal cannot sustain the mindless Foxworthy humor. Fortunately, he does get some help from Fairuza Balk as Bobby's horny, buck-toothed and violent, but nonetheless sweet, ex-convict girlfriend. She demonstrates her love for Bobby by redesigning his riding lawnmower into a high-speed vehicle, romantically stealing Lawrence Taylor's Corvette and seductively gnawing...

...themselves seem bored. In Milan last month, Schiffer talked briefly about quitting modeling to concentrate on her acting career. Romijn is already distancing herself from her modeling background. "I don't like modeling that much," she says. "It's been a great trip, but straight print modeling is so mindless." How far has the stock of modeling fallen? ...year-old Juilliard School graduate who opted for musical comedy over grand opera, she has a tangy, beautifully focused soprano voice and an intensely evocative way with words. She could make a toothpaste jingle sound poignant--and the songs on Way Back to Paradise are anything but mindless tunes. Jason Robert Brown's Stars and the Moon tells the wry tale of a material girl who brushes off a series of poor but ardent suitors only to learn that yachts and champagne aren't everything; Ricky Ian Gordon's Dream Variations is a laconic, sweet-and-sour setting...
