...amphitheatre or lecture room of the new Harvard Medical School building on Friday last. It was confined to that locality, although considerable damage was done elsewhere by the heat and smoke. The woodwork of the lecture room, including the amphitheatre seats, was totally destroyed, and the ceilings and fresco work ruined. The origin of the fire is a mystery, and was probably caused by spontaneous combustion among painters' rages. The building was damaged nearly $2000.
