...most encouraging feature was the fast and active playing of Eaton at tackle. This position has been a weak one heretofore and Eaton's improvement will strengthen it greatly. By getting the ball on a fumble in the first half he made the second touchdown possible and his blocking of one of Mifflin's punts was very timely. Roberts showed some improvement under the constant coaching given him, but made a poor pass which caused one of Stillman's kicks to be blocked. Stillman bucked the line successfully and kicked better than he has done so far this year. Campbell...

...Burnett and Sargent, and a great deal of the credit for stopping the plays is due to them. Roberts, who succeeded Sargent was not so effective, but this may be attributed to his lack of experience with the guards back formation. Burnett and Sargent did some good tackling and fast interfering in the open field. J. Lawrence and Eaton opened holes well and were much steadier than usual. Campbell and Hallowell were slow and missed tackled frequently. The best work was done by the back field men, Fincke, Putnam, Kendall, Devens, and Stillman. Kendall and Devens took the full advantage...

...also made two fumbles at critical times, besides losing a great deal of distance and chances to score through off-side play and holding. In spite of this, however, the team had little difficulty in making regular gains, principally through the line, the whole eleven playing a snappy and fast offensive game. Nevertheless, whenever West Point got the ball a weak spot was usually found in the Harvard team and short regular gains resulted, but sooner or later a fumble put an end to the rally. Harvard's strength lay in bucking the line and running in the open field...

...best of the interscholastic teams this year and the game promises to be one of the hardest of the season. Exeter this year has been fortunate in the return of a number of last year's substitutes and from these and the nucleus of old players a very fast team has been developed. End runs and kicking will probably be Exeter's principal tactics this afternoon. The Freshman team has not taken the brace expected since the tie game with St. Mark's. Much shifting about in the line has resulted in poor team work. The strongest part...
