...Junior crew won the class race yesterday afternoon. A strong head wind so roughened the water above the bridge that fast rowing was impossible, and the final time was 10 minutes and 14 seconds. The Seniors and the Sophomores kept even with the winning boat until just above the bridge, when the Juniors established a lead which they held throughout the race. The Seniors spurted continually but were half a length behind at the finish, one length and a half ahead of the Sophomores. The Law School crew was not in the race after the first mile, and finished five...
...Freshman lacrosse team defeated the Sophomores yesterday in the first of the games for the class lacrosse championship, by the score of 4 to 1. In spite of the unfavorable weather the playing on both sides was fast. The Freshmen, however, were better at every point of the game, especially in offensive work and team play. Clark '01 in 4m. 36 3-5s. H. S. Knowles '02 was a good second...

Although the track was very heavy yesterday, it is expected that it will be sufficiently dry this afternoon to permit fast time. The games will be the first that many candidates, particularly Freshmen, have taken part in and the results will therefore be interesting in showing up any good latent material...
...latter has developed into a remarkable left-handed pitcher. At present the weakest places on the team are shortstop and second base, left vacant by Camp and Quinby. In J. T. Craffey '04, however, Yale has found a valuable man for the former position. His work last Saturday was fast and reliable, and before the season is far advanced, Yale will probably be as strong as ever at short. J. O. Tobin '02 has been playing second in promising form. In the outfield, the only vacancy is right field. A. Y. Wear '02 is the most likely candidate for this...
