...good conditions and the time made was fairly satisfactory. The crew also seem better able to hold their form than they were in Cambridge. However, they will need all the improvement they can possibly make before the race as Yale is undoubtedly faster than last year, having made very fast time here on Monday when they went the four miles in 20m. 25s. to 20m. 30s. which is faster time than we have been able make also been doing considerable work in which the Freshmen seem to be nearly as fast. The Freshman four had an impromptu race with...

...Yale infielders, Sharpe is the most reliable, and Guernsey is playing a fast game at third. Camp and Quinby are brilliant but erratic. Cook is the best of the outfielders. He covers a great deal of ground and is one of the strongest batters on the team. Barnwell is a good fielder, but Sullivan in right field is not satisfactory. Hirsh is a new man, but is catching a much steadier game than Cunha and throwing to second more accurately than Sullivan. Robertson is a very able pitcher, but is likely to weaken towards the end of a game...

...practice of the nine yesterday was long and hard, but was far from satisfactory. In the batting practice all the men hit well, but the base-running was slow and showed lack of judgment. Devens and Fincke both showed great improvement in hitting. In the field the work was fast and the throwing accurate, but an unusual number of errors were made on ground hits and thrown balls. Clark and Stillman were given plenty of practice in fielding bunts, and both caught the runners almost invariably. Fincke made several difficult stops, but missed some easy throws. C. F. Payne...

...lost a chance to score through G. C. Clark's attempt to make three bases on his two-base hit to right centre. The failure to hit White does not necessarily indicate a slump in batting, for the ball was hit hard a number of times when Georgetown's fast fielding prevented safe hits. Such a showing against White, one of the best men pitching on college teams this year, is not discreditable. Georgetown did not hit Kernan hard, but bunched hits when they were needed and took advantage of bases on balls and Harvard's errors...

...pitched ball and went to third on Reid's single to right field. On the first ball pitched Reid started to steal second and while Steinwender tried to run him down on the base line, Kernan stole home. Reid and Fincke were put out on a fast double play by Meier, Steinwender and Pearson. In the sixth inning Loughlin reached first on Steinwender's error and second on Kendall's sacrifice, but Reid and Fincke went out on easy chances. With two out in the seventh inning Devens singled and stole second but was left there. In the eighth inning...
