During the past week the football team has improved greatly from its showing in the Annapolis game. This improvement was especially noticeable in the game with Bucknell last Saturday. Here, spite of the soggy field and the drizzling rain which fell continuously throughout both halves, the backfield played with a snap and vigor that carried the Bucknell team off its feet. Saturday afternoon the Freshman football team tied with Phillips Exeter Academy on Soldiers Field, neither side scoring. On the offensive the Freshmen were superior to Exeter, but both teams were weak on the defense. The Freshman backfield was fast, especially Gregory, right half-back, who showed himself a good ground-gainer. Exeter's ends were faster than d'Este or Browne.
