...listless and stupid playing by the University team, permitted the visitors not only to score but to hold Harvard to an 8 to 6 victory. In the first half Williams started off with a rush and caught the University players off their guard. Two careless fumbles in the Harvard backfield, hard tackling by the Williams ends, who followed the ball exceedingly well, resulted in a touchdown for Williams in less than five minutes after the kick-off. Throughout the remainder of the half Harvard was played to a standstill and the half ended with the score...

...University team will start the game with the same line-up as was used against Bates on Wednesday. The backfield, with the exception of O'Flaherty, are all "H" men. They have been working together in the last two days of practice and team-work has been developed rapidly. The line should show improvement as a result of Coach Kersberg's coaching. The ends, who played very well in the Bates game, will have to keep up to this standard as the substitutes are pushing them hard...

Minot is sure to prove a valuable player in the backfield, whether he plays half or fullback. Last fall he was not in good academic standing, but played a strong defensive game on the second eleven, and his line-plunging was one of the features of the practice scrimmages. Corbett and Leslie will probably be the halfbacks. Both are fast, run well through a broken field, and are consistent ground gainers. Sprague, who played against Yale, and Frothingham and Winston of the 1912 team are the substitutes. The hardest task that confronts the coaches is the development of a quarterback...

...against Yale, as well as good substitute and Freshman material to draw on. Smith, who played at right halfback this year, is a promising candidate for centre. He played a brilliant game in that position on his Freshman team, and is much better suited to it than to the backfield. Hadden, this year's substitute centre, is a good man, and plays an aggressive game...

...ball almost at will. The Sophomores played on the defensive during nearly all of the first half, and could gain only towards the end of the game when the Seniors put in a number of substitutes. For the Seniors, Cate at quarterback and Brooks and Hoffman in the backfield excelled, the latter scoring three touchdowns. R. C. Foster, Voshell, and Case, who made a 30-yard run for a touchdown, played well for the Sophomores. The feature of the game was Sheip's 90-yard run for a touchdown after he had intercepted a forward pass...
