German and Turkish claims on the Trojan antiquities certainly ring hollow, particularly when you consider that the frieze of the Parthenon and other sculptures taken from the Acropolis in Athens, the crowning symbol of the birth of democracy, still reside as part of the controversial Elgin Marbles in the British Museum.
