Literary Sins. The translators' commentary in the N.A.B. is bound to be more controversial than the biblical text itself. The introduction criticizes the New Testament as flawed by "limited vocabularies," "stylistic infelicities," "syntactical shortcomings," "overladen sentences" and "rhetorically ineffective words and phrases"-in general, literary sins no "Western contemporary writer" would commit.
