Columbia defeated Princeton and Pennsylvania in a triangular race over the one and three-quarters miles course on Carnegie Lake, Princeton, N. J., Saturday afternoon, thus winning possession of the Childs cup for one year. The Columbia crew took the lead at the start, and held it throughout the whole race. ...Harvard, Yale, and Princeton freshmen will compete in the annual triangular debate this evening at 8 o'clock. Harvard will defend the negative against Yale in New Lecture Hall, and will argue the affirmative against Princeton at Princeton. The Yale team will at the same time uphold the negative against Princeton at New Haven. The subject for all three debates will be, "Resolved, That the initiative and referendum should be generally adopted in American states."
