House Culture: Divided. Some hard-core Winthropians have mystifying Griffin pride, but the majority of the house is blasé about ’Throp culture. Tara Arden-Smith wrote an article on life in Winthrop House in which she mentioned that in the Throp, even seniors don't get singles. In a March 9 letter, the president of the Winthrop House Committee, Aren R. Cohen, rebutted that charge, stating that all Winthrop seniors do in fact have access to singles in their suites...

Mary, Winthrop House checker. She knows more people than anyone else on campus and 'Throp's open-to-all dining policy would be a good rule to follow in Mass Hall. No more exclusion. Also those feeling left out of things because Bok is a former basketball player would feel closer with Mary's down-to-earth stature...
