Toward the close of a clean, hard-fought struggle, the Puck Pingers, who played but six men, weakened, although at first the teams seemed evenly matched. The defense of the Puck Pingers held their opposing forwards at bay, but their three-man attack was unable to come within striking distance of the Hard Guys' goal. The superiority of numbers began to tell in the last of the game, and it was only by excellent work at goal that Wylde was able to hold the Hard Guys to three scores. Though...
Amherst was also in poor form. The team played a three-man defense all the time, and were it not for their goal the score would have been much larger. Many substitutes were sent in for the University, but they were not better than those who started, Claflin and Hopkins were not in the game at all, Cunning, ham and S. P. Clark taking their places, while Captain Willetts played only during the last few minutes. Seymour was the best of the Amherst forwards; he was frequently able to dash alone down the rink but did not succeed in scoring...

A. meet on February 10, as they were unwilling to do away with the dual race with Yale, which has been held regularly at that time, and on account of the poor facilities that the indoor track offers for a three-man race. Dual relay races with Yale and Princeton, however, will probably be arranged separately. It was also decided not to hold a winter track carnival in Mechanics Hall, but to hold it probably in Cambridge sometime in March...
