...think the Athletic Association has determined wisely in arranging for a fall athletic meeting. The utter abandonment of the sports for the fall would be very injurious to our chances of success next spring. The system of handicap races which has hitherto proved so satisfactory will be extended so much that a chance will be given to every athlete of any ability whatever. ...outlook for our success in foot-ball this fall is very bright. Of course it may be as yet a little early to make any predictions but we have already seen the candidates for the team at practice regularly for over two weeks, as well as in their game with Wesleyan and we are certainly able to tell pretty well what the material on hand will amount to.
