Stillman pitched steadily, although he did not seem to exert himself to any extent. While striking out eight men, he allowed only six safe hits, and gave no bases on balls. He also showed improvement in batting. Stephenson, who caught in the last three innings, showed improvement, but lacked the speed and accuracy of Kernan's throwing. Clarkson batted well, with a home run and a single to his credit, and made one excellent throw home from centre field in the eighth inning...

...error. R. Kernana and Carr then singled successively each bringing in a run, and raising the score to a total of 3-0. An error by Coffin in the sixth allowed Carr to reach second, from where he scored on Harvey's fumble of a throw. In the fifth, Stephenson received a base on balls and H. Kernana followed with a single, both gaining a base on a double steal, and scoring on Stillman's single. One more run was made in the seventh inning on a pretty home-run hit by Clarkson.
