...actor without an ounce of charisma, will be hard put to replace the original, iconic Indy. Ford looks just fine, his chest tanned to a rich, Corinthian leather; he is still lithe on his feet and can deliver a wisecrack as sharp as a whip crack. Indeed, he seems sprightlier than much of the movie. There are scenes that play like stretching exercises at the retirement home; there are garrulous passages while Indy translates runic inscriptions; even the title seems a few words too long. ...love - but nothing explicit, danke. Inge (Ursula Werner), a plain hefty woman in her early 60s, is more or less happily married to 70-something Werner (Horst Rehberg), whose idea of excitement is to listen to recordings of model-train sound effects. ...story a few weeks ago about Riley Weston, the writer on the WB series Felicity who was fired when it was learned she was 32 years old instead of 19, as she had claimed. As a supposed teenager--judging from pictures, she could pass as Winona Ryder's sprightlier kid sister--she was considered a special asset on a show about a college student. Her angry bosses, sounding like defensive Republicans explaining impeachment, said it was the falsehood that troubled them, not the fact that Weston was in reality old enough to be the title character's mother (in some...
