...eleven, which the University team meets next Saturday succumbed to Dartmouth's more aggressive and cleaner playing to the score of 13 to 0. M. A. C. was constantly incurring penalties for off-side play, yet could not withstand the Hanover team's straightforward line-bucking tactics. The other setback was the scoreless the which was forced upon Carlisle by Lebanon Valley. Both teams were strong on the defense in this game, and both were most effective with wide end runs...

During this week came the most serious setback of the season--Sortwell was called away for an indefinite period and Captain Huntington was taken slightly ill with a cold. The prospects for the Saturday game with McGill were indeed poor, until it was discovered on Friday night that Sortwell would be able to return to play in the game. Huntington was again in the game, as also was Sortwell, but neither was in the best of form and the forward line was weakened somewhat on this account. ...freshman nine received a serious setback yesterday in the disqualification of its strongest pitcher. Coming as it does the day before the Princeton game, the nine is totally unprepared and the team which Harvard will put into the field will be considerably altered in its make-up. An accident of this kind invariably disturbs the work of the nine as a whole and we shall be suprised if under the circumstances the freshmen meet with success. However, we extend to them our heartiest good wishes If victory comes to them, the men may well feel proud of their record...
