...former order was greatly shifted around. The most important change, was that of Lund who went to stroke on Crew A, replacing Chanler who took the former's place on Crew B. Parson replaced Harwood at 6 who went to 4, Gardiner rowing in Crew B yesterday. Schall, returning after a week's absence on account of sickness, replaced J. W. Middendorf at 5, and Curtis replaced Wilkinson at 3. Both crews seemed to work very smoothly under the new arrangement. The first crew used the English shell made by Sims & Co., which was ordered early this year...

...three men on the University crew who have been absent because of sickness returned to the boat yesterday. They were Captain Reynolds and W. T. Gardiner '14. C. E. Schall '16, the third man will report next Monday. Gardiner went in at 4 in place of Morgan and Captain Reynolds replaced Herrick at bow. Practice yesterday afternoon consisted of a long row up-stream. Following is the order of the first boat as it rowed yesterday: Stroke, Chanler; 7, Soucy; 6, Harwood; 5, J. W. ...order to keep University Crew B intact for the race at Philadelphia on Saturday, substitutes were put in boat A instead of taking men from the second boat to fill the vacancies left by the absence of Captain Reynolds and C. E. Schall '16. L. Curtis '14, who has been rowing in the first, went back to 7 in B. The second eight had a short race with Union Boat Club up stream for half a mile, winning by about 1-2 a length.
