Instead of fine musicians like Red Allen, Pete Brown, and Sidney Bechet, who have been setting the Ken a-rocking in the past three months, there will be a pussyfoot outfit under Nick Jerrit. Not that the band hasn't possibilities, but playing alongside J. C. Higginbotham and Pete Brown in yesterday's jam session, Jerrit's bunch was dismally uninteresting. There evidently won't be an end to the Sunday sessions, which is heartening. I don't think they'll be as exciting as previously, if for the simple reason that you can't build a whole afternoon...
Remnants of last year's Varsity and Freshman squad which have returned include, besides McKinnon, Jack and Bill Fisher, stars of the hammer, and Pete Garland, whose discus hurling broke records in the Freshman Yale meet last year. Mikkola is expecting the Class of '46 to be strong in runners but the weight men have not yet shown much promise...

Blond Senior Johnny Bunker, and ex-Freshman Pete Garland both grabbed places in the high jump, Bunker took a third, and Garland tied for fourth. On the face of it, this looks only mediocre, but the winner was the famed "Boo" Morcum of New Hampshire, who stepped out to a phenomenal new record of 6 feet, 5 inches...
