...fifth inning decided the game. Amherst failed to score, though Oldham reached first on balls. For Harvard, Edgerly struck to Marble, who fumbled the ball, allowing him to score, and stole second. Beaman hit safely, bringing in Edgerly, and was sent home by Tilden's two bagger. After hitting safely for two bases Tilden stole third and came home on Nichols' hit.
