Wholly unpretentious, the movie goes in & out of its four musical numbers without labored cues or excuses, relies on bouncy tunes and the simple showmanship of Durante and O'Connor instead of costly production routines. The plot is nonsense, and The Milkman's four scripters have tried to-use it wherever possible as a springboard for visual comedy in the silent-movie tradition. Unfortunately, the effort too often is no more inventive than the second-rate dialogue that overburdens Comedian Durante.
