Among the Paths to Eden, by contrast, makes much of its plainness. A widower, Ivor Belli (Martin Balsam), brings flowers to his wife's grave. Tending her father's nearby tombstone, Mary O'Meaghan (Maureen Stapleton) strikes up a conversation.
