For reasons of statistical continuity, the survey questions can't change all that much from year to year, and the length of the survey can't get too unwieldy, but if I had been able to add questions for this and future years, here's some of what I would have asked...

Quantum Project, a 32-min. epic about a physicist (perpetual star-of-the-future Stephen Dorff) who defies his Merlinish dad (blustery John Cleese) to find love with the proper electron (petrochemical-sunset-haired Fay Masterson), is the first medium-length, Hollywood-style movie made uniquely for the Internet. Gurianova's remarks about the evolution of avant-garde styles from long-standing traditions in art and literature are insightful. In her chapter on "The Futurist Shift," Gurianova draws a connection between Rozanova's lithographs made to embellish Kruchenykh's narrative poem Game in Hell and the "denizens of the underworld" of Gogol and Pushkin. Noting how Rozanova...
