...Yale News is responsible for the statement that in all probability the new Yale launch, built by E. T. Copeland of New York, will not be accepted. The launch has been given three trials but in all of them it has failed to show the required speed. The third trial was made on Monday afternoon. The screw of the launch had been changed and the result was a slight increase of speed, but not sufficient to warrant its acceptance. The time averaged four miles in about twenty-one minutes. The old Yale launch has been put on the dry dock for repairs, and the new one is not expected to arrive at New London till June 20. Ex-captain Rogers is giving his whole time to the freshman crew, while Percy Bolton coaches the 'varsity crew and will continue to coach them till...
