Sirs: The article "Fat & Drugs" under "Medicine in your issue of April 30 was excellent. Particularly interesting to your readers must be the composition of the so-called obesity cures. You failed to mention one of the most widely advertised of these-Kruschen Salts. This was analyzed by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station at New Haven some years ago I Bulletin 341. July, 1932] and was found to consist "essentially of a mixture of Epsom and Glauber salts.'' This puts it in the class with the other "cures" that work thru their laxative action. . . . HENRY S.
