Though the regular season will start next week, debating began with the Interclass Debate recently held. The team representing the Junior class, composed of G. P. Bickford, W. R. Brewster and S. A. Darkness again prevented the completion of the interclass tennis tournament. Two matches, however, were played, which served only to tighten the tie between 1923 and 1922, each of which now has two matches. Both of yesterday's matches were closely contested. In the first, J. W. Farnham '23 required three sets to dispose of R. P. Parker '22, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. Parker carried every point to the limit, but Farnham was steadier, more certain. Likewise F. S. ...something of a surprise yesterday when M. Duane '23 defeated C. P. Holmes '22, 6-2, 6-4, in the first match of the Interclass Tournament finals. Duane played in top form sweeping Holmes before him with a terrific driving game. Holmes showed at his best, but was unable to cope with the furious rallies of his opponent, whose exhibition today practically clinches his position on next spring's team.
