Other notable performances include David Huyssen's haggard, care-laden Jack. Supporting a family of seven on his small salary, he must also assume the role of father figure for Blanche's girls and keep his own sons aware of the necessary moderation between practicality and principles. Huyssen, more so than the other cast members, creates a palpable sense of his age through body language and speech pattern.
