...secret practice of the University football team yesterday afternoon was exceedingly discouraging. The defense proved utterly ineffective and as a result the second eleven had little difficulty in defeating the University team by a score of 10 to 5. Hurley and Meier were both on the field but did not take part in the scrimmage. Randall and Noyes were also out but were given only light work, the latter on account of a cut in the head received in the game with Holy Cross on Saturday. Brill did not report for practice yesterday but will probably be in condition again...

...second mass meeting for the purpose of practicing songs and cheers for the Yale game will be held in the Living Room of the Union at 7.15 o'clock this evening. R. H. Oveson '05, Captain Hurley, and one of the football coaches will probably speak, and five of the most successful songs will be rehearsed. The other songs will not, however, be discarded, as it is proposed to hold a series of "song nights" during the year, at which the musical clubs and the orchestra will play, and at which the songs will be used...

...practice was the extraordinary amount of fumbling, due largely to poor passing by Parkinson. Brill was frequently brought back of the line from tackle to carry the ball, rushing for good gains.
