About sixty candidates for the track team began training on Soldiers Field yesterday. Many more are expected to join the squad today or tomorrow. The work yesterday was light, the distance men running three laps and the candidates for the sprints, one. The work will be gradually increased so as to put the men into good condition for the fall track games to be held in the last week in October...

...Freshman football squad, numbering about a hundred and fifty, began practice yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field. The men were divided into eight squads, each in charge of a temporary captain, and twenty minutes were spent in dropping on the ball and passing. Training for the Varsity and Freshman fall games to be held some time during the last week of October or the first week of November will beginthis morning on Soldiers Field.
