...Geidt, whose Truscott really brings out the flavor of Orton's sardonic lines. Dismissing the corruption of the British police and his own ineptitude with the same casual deadpan manner, Geidt successfully conveys the amorality of Orton's society. And that really is the true genius of Loot: that devil-may-care attitude to any sense of right and wrong or to any constancy at all. None of the characters try too hard to hide their crimes, and they very readily confess it to whomever is interested. The gay lover, Dennis, as played by a very earnest and sympathetic Sean...

BRITNEY SPEARS may be the queen of pop tartiness, but her new video, From the Bottom of My Broken Heart, is an entirely wholesome affair. Oddly, it took an ex-porn auteur to clean up her act. The clip was helmed by Greg Dark, director of such fare as Devil in Miss Jones 5 and Hootermania. ...angelic one's cornrowed head. Never fear though. D'Angelo has reclaimed center stage. Voodoo is thick with the same sensuality as Brown Sugar and doubly infused with bottomed-out, layered funk that recalls a smoke-filled Brooklyn bar or greasy Southern kitchen. Highlights include the funk-spiritual "Devil's Pie," "Left & Right" (a remarkable collaboration with Method Man and Redman) and "How Does It Feel," the video for which you have no doubt already seen on MTV or BET (it's the one with D'Angelo buck naked). If D'Angelo is guilty of anything in this album...

...whatever he drank worked. The set flowed smoothly and the longer length of the band's performance allowed for a wide range in their repertoire, which included their own hits like "Then the Morning Comes" and "All Star" as well as covers of Van Halen's "Runnin' With the Devil" and House of Pain's "Jump Around." With such a rich act, it's too bad many of the adults had already taken off--no doubt to relieve the babysitter back home...
