Usage:

...prizes in each class meeting will be as follows : the winner in each event to have free entrance to the championship meeting; the second in each event, provided three or more men enter, to receive a cup suitably inscribed. EXCEPT for the unfortunate accident in the Heavy-Weight Sparring, the last day of the Winter Meeting was as successful, though not as interesting, as the previous ones. The fact that there was only one entry in each of the wrestling-classes, and that therefore no cup was given, is a text for some criticism on the clause in the Constitution of the Athletic Association which directs that there shall be no prizes awarded for walk-overs. It certainly seems that if the one entry is the only man who has taken enough interest in the event to train...

...Team, and G. B. Morison, '83, the Captain of the Freshman Football Team, contended in the Running High-Jump. The bar was gradually raised from 4 ft. 6 in. to 5 ft. 2 in., without a failure to clear it; but at this height Mr. Sturgis failed, and the cup was given to Mr. Morison, who cleared it very gracefully at his second attempt. This is Mr. Morison's first appearance in the High-Jump, and his graceful and easy manner of jumping shows that he can go much higher with practice. The highest record here...
