Usage:

What's responsible for our schedule? Well, the easy answer is reading period--the ten day period before finals when classes and extra-curricular activities end, but students are expected to remain at school to work on final projects. A fine concept, but in practice, who likes reading period, anyway? Students sure don't. Who actually does "reading" during reading period? Even if I did choose to study, half of my TF's leave in January anyway. Yes, reading period gives us time to work on term papers. But other schools seem to do just fine without it. If kids...

...question is one of normalcy (to borrow a phrase from the Harding administration). I would hold that our concept of normalcy in behavior and emotional well-being is narrowing, making the once merely overly rambunctious dog (or child) now a victim of an unfortunate psychological disease. To bring these unfortunate souls into the envelope of normalcy again, all that is needed is a little green meanie. But this sort of socially constructed and varying conception of normalcy brings up legitimate ethical problems...

...father is a very successful dentist, and I wanted to be a dentist. Well, I didn't want to, but I had no concept that I would ever be able to make a living doing what I did in high school. So I actually worked hard in high school to get into a good school, and I got to Cornell and I was a pre-dental student. I just could not handle serious science courses. ...incredibly smart guy. I think he's hysterical. I think his movies - obviously he's constructed more conventional vehicles for himself, but he's always had incredibly funny moments in his movies and I think his new movie is actually a step beyond. There's more of a concept to it than his other movies. There's a world in there. He worked harder on it than any other script. I hope critics cut him some slack...
