...absence of Mr. Blair from the cast was deeply felt. Mr. Pascoe as Solness, however, brought out vividly the conflicting elements of Solness's almost insanely morbid character. Miss Kahn, as Hilda Wangel, was the star of the performance; the mere fact of her having given to Ibsen's impossible heroine so much life and so much reality, is in itself the highest tribute to her acting. Mr. Lewis, as Ragnar Brovik, seemed much more at home than in "Ties," and played his part with greater ease and more convincingness. But the theories of the so-called "natural" school...

...Mask and Wig Club will produce this year "Mr. Aguinaldo, Jr.," by Mr. William Ernst ex '96 L., the author of last year's play. The plot deals with the vagaries, disappearances and reappearances of Aguinaldo. As nine men of last year's cast will again try for parts, the prospects for a successful performance are very good. The first performance will be on April 14 at Atlantic City, and will be followed by two performances in Philadelphia...

Mr. Blair gave to Robert Fergan a truly Anglo-Saxon touch of blunt brutality, and Miss Kahn typified the American rather than the French wife...

...modern stage. But more remodelling and curtailing might have further improved the performance. Throughout the first and second acts there was a tedious succession of long monologues and one-sided conversations in which the speakers, as a rule, overacted their parts. Meanwhile the rest of the cast stood inactive and apparently inattentive...
