Usage:

...than Biology in most cases, since it levaes more courses open for distribution, and yet covers everything needed for a thorough understanding of human physiology. It is better avoided, though, by men who can't do math. For the man who intends to do no graduate work, Biochem is useless professionally, but provides a good, liberal survey of general science. For men going into psychology or physiology in Graduate School, it provides at least as good, and probably a better, background than undergraduate concentration in psychology or biology...

Rules of concentration in Biochem have undergone no changes. Six courses are still required for concentration and seven and a half for honors. Some adjustment in honors work may become necessary, however, because of the pressure of the accelerated program. Given at the end of the Senior year, the two three-hour divisionals will most probably be retained. Even now only tutorial Plan A students must take both examinations...

...concentration is considered carefully in borderline cases. Many of the Houses specialize in certain fields as far as tutors and libraries are concerned. Winthrop House, for instance, has a good percentage of the Biochemistry tutors and a well equipped library for this field. In case of a showdown, a Biochem concentrator would have a beter chance of admission to this House than a Classics student...
