Under Cinema, TIME, Sept. 13, you state in a footnote that in Russian the adjective meaning "red" also means "pretty," hence the play on words in speaking of a "red girl" in the Communist sense. Whoever wrote that had better have a talk with Mr. Berlitz and brush up his Russian because krasnaya meaning "red" and krasivaya meaning "pretty" are similar in appearance but entirely different in meaning.
