...made the facility difficult to protect. For all that, American diplomats will likely turn up their noses at the announcement. The move means trading in the tony surroundings of Mayfair - with its bespoke tailors, high-end jewelers and Michelin-starred restaurants - for a gritty stretch of road between Battersea and Vauxhall, known for, among other things, its bus station, a large supermarket and one of London's busiest gay saunas. The new location will, however, place the embassy closer to the British parliament at Westminster, and is within walking distance from the headquarters of MI6, Britain's secret intelligence service...

FREE SAMPLE "At the inquest, a cabman told the coroner that he had seen a gentleman racing, hatless, across Battersea Bridge, from which, about half-way over, he had vaulted into the river. Laing has also built several wired homes in the Battersea area of London, complete with "intelligent" heating and lighting, which can be controlled from a mobile phone. I speak with a 39-year-old venture capitalist who bought one of the homes four months ago. John Lloyd and his more famous wife Chris Evert Lloyd were paired against Bjorn Borg and Fiancee Mariana Simionescu, who plan to be married in July. Between hugs, pats, kisses and giggles, the foursome played reasonably serious tennis, with Chris and John winning, 6-4, 6-3. For that they were awarded $93,000, while the losers won $60,500. Charity got $35,000, leading some to wonder...
