Your story "How To Heal a Hypochondriac" was unfair to many people who desperately visit doctor after doctor for some relief from their debilitating symptoms [HEALTH, Oct. 6]. When basic tests don't reveal anything, a patient is told there is nothing wrong and therefore it must be "all in your head." After doing my own research on the Internet, I learned that my problem has a name, fibromyalgia. Now that I am receiving proper treatment, I am doing better.
