In proof of this the "evidence" offers an extract from a letter of Mr. Ammerman, published in the Philadelphia Press on Nov. 26, 1889, as follows...
...Linn, the captain of the Harvard Nine, says in the letter printed herewith: "I have not made, and no one has been authorized by me, to make any offer whatsoever to Mr. Ammerman or to anybody else."
