...itself more than usually entertaining, both as to stories and illustrations, and even puts some life into its editorials, by way of variety. It is interesting to note, too, that the "keg" in the Sanctum is at last emptied; one wonders how the "By the Way" column will get along in the future without it. As to the drawings, nothing need be said except in commendation. They are either amusing or very cleverly executed, and are well supported by the accompanying jokes...
...affairs--a feature acceptable enough if not overdone. In many cases an episode relies for much of its humor on familiar connection with undergraduate life; but in many more, this connection is assumed to furnish amusement unassisted. The "Specimen Conference" in History 1 fails for this reason, and wanders along, overshooting the mark, when a little more skill would have made it entertaining. The deep power and significance of His personality is that He puts Himself along with men in their doubt and scepticism, feeling for their weaknesses and sins and sympathizing as one who had himself been tempted. It is He who knows us. He is here to liberate no matter what our burdens. He comes to transform the life, to help man overcome temptation, to assist...
