Said London's deluxe tobacconist, Alfred Dunhill: "No self-respecting smoker would smoke a herbal mixture." But thousands of Britons were mixing the sweetish stuff with their pipe tobacco; it cost only fourpence an ounce, about one-tenth of the price of tobacco...
