Died. R. (for Robert) Stanley Dollar, 78, canny, litigious shipping tycoon, of a heart attack; in Manhattan. Ontario-born Dollar went to work at 17 for his father, succeeded him in 1931 as head of the family shipping empire, but was forced out in 1938 when Dollar Steamship Lines defaulted on a $7,500,000 federal loan.
