Scott Fitzgerald, to end Hemingway's relations with his publisher, Horace Liveright. Plot was that Liveright, annoyed at the ribbing of his star author, Sherwood Anderson, would refuse the manuscript, thus leaving Hemingway free to join Friend Fitzgerald at Scribners.
