Another instance of limitation of student freedom because of cold war tensions can be found in the case of political rallies. Before the war it was very easy for a Harvard group to hold a rally, and right in the Yard if it wished. Today the Yard is out of bounds for rallies, and considerable Dean's Office and Student Council red tape must be sliced through to hold a rally anywhere else on Harvard property.
