As captain of the Yardling nine last season, Bob Fulton attracted considerable notice. His hitting and catching ability make him a strong contender for the position left vacant by the graduation of Al Colwell and Frank Owen.
Yardling cagers face their toughest battle to date when they meet Andover this afternoon at 4 o'clock on the Indoor Athletic Gymnasium floor. The Academy quintet was barely nosed out last week 34-31 by a strong Yale Freshman five.
The Yardling fencers will enter their second match of the season at the same time with the Brown Freshmen on the enemy floor. In their first contest, the Crimson yearlings defeated the Exeter swordsmen 7-2. Against Brown, the Yardlings will fence 27 events.
The group which beat Milton 25-5 will elect a captain before the meet. Chief threats on the Yardling lists are Tom Lacey in the 175-pound class and Elliott Richardson in the 155-pound division.
To fill the shoes of Edward Bennett '37, Captain and cox of last year's outfit, Bolles will probably call on either Edward T. White '38, sox of the Junior Varsity boat last year, or George B. Shotlidge '40, former Yardling cox-swain.
