...Boat Club will take place in Boston, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, on either April 27 and 28 or May 4 and 5, and at either Horticultural or Union Halls. The precise time and place will be announced later. Tickets may be procured the first of next week, at 4 H'y. The play will be the burlesque, "Fair Rosamond." It will be remembered that, by a vote of the Faculty, these are the last theatricals in aid of the Boat Club which can be given by undergraduates. OWING to the fact that the Crew have just changed from the machines to the boat, and it is, as yet, too early to criticise them, the regular report of their progress does not appear this week. ...THIS week, the Era mourns. The "unsuspecting Westerner" no longer listens to the dulcet tones of Cornell, "one of the most popular colleges in the country, in the opinion of Westerners." The reasons are the Cincinnati Examinations, and the fact that "every State has a dozen monohippic colleges at least, which he feels in duty bound to attend, partly out of patriotic motives, and partly on account of the great risk and expense incurred in coming east." FROM the enthusiasm manifested at the meeting of the Art Club on last Thursday week we feel confident that the Club is now based upon a footing to insure it a more lasting and creditable existence than it has yet enjoyed.
