...time has it offered more than it does at present, and now, if ever, the authorities in charge are endeavoring in every way to make the Union the centre of the social life of the University. In response to these efforts, however, the support from the student body is weaker than ever before. This may be due to the increased attention that is being given to other phases of University life rather than to any shortcomings in the Union itself. We believe, however, that there must be some definite underlying reasons why the Union membership is not holding...

...second half was played by the substitutes, who were weaker but far from bad. In this half Holy Cross was given a better chance to show her skill, and succeeded once in getting the ball into Harvard territory as far as the 12-yard line. But there her runners were thrown for losses of 15 yards and the danger was over. Bradlee in this half succeeded in getting off some good gains which showed him almost in a class with the first string men, and H. Frothingham, who played at end for the first time, was responsible for several good...

Between the two touchdowns, there was an interval of stiff scrimmage. The University was weaker on the offense than ever before, but this was due to a plan adopted purposely to make their work more difficult, namely, that of playing a number of coaches with the second team. At one time when the University attacked, it was opposed by Fish at right guard, P. Withington at centre, L. Withington at left tackle, and Smith at left end. Later on, Leary went in at right guard for a short time...

...this point team B was put in. Its line seemed a little weaker than team A's, for the seconds were able to gain somewhat. It soon braced and took the ball away, however, carrying it down the field to within striking distance of the goal, when a short end run crossed the line. Withington failed to kick the goal. Score: University 27, Seconds 0. By this time it was quite dark and the men found difficulty in playing. Team B took the ball, and Bradlee eluded his opponents for 40 yards. Then more line plunges brought in the final...

Smith played at left end, and will probably stay there throughout the season as his presence greatly strengthens the weaker side of the line. Lingard filled the right end position in the absence of Felton. The only other change in the line-up was the shifting of Huntington to the backfield. He was substituted for Blackall at fullback, but had little chance to show his ability in that position. Although his knee is still bothering him a little, T. Frothingham played halfback for the substitutes in signal drill...
