Phillips Andover Academy defeated Phillips Exeter on Saturday at Exeter, by a score of 28 to 0. Exeter's defense was weak, the line, with the exception of the ends, playing much too high. The only time that Exeter came near scoring was when the first half closed with the ball in Exeter's possession on her opponent's 1-yard line. The Andover backs gained almost at will, and the whole team helped the man with the ball effectively. Hobbs. ...changing conditions must be considered. Carlisle, however, used practically the same style of play against both Harvard and Pennsylvania, and thus the games with the Indians give the best opportunity for judging the relative strength. In that game as well as in the game with Lafayette, Pennsylvania was extremely weak on the offense and unable to gain when within striking distance of its opponent's goal. White has been doing fair work at centre, where Parker will probably be tried today. Of the ends, Hall is fast, but too light. Macdonald has been doing good work at times, and Leary...

This defensive work was extremely encouraging, especially when the first eleven, after being penalized for offside play and forced back...
