TIME: Why now? NADER:The signature-gathering season starts first, actually, in Texas in March 5th. In Texas they have a law that if you vote in a Texas primary you cannot sign anybody's petition to run for office. And then it's followed by Arizona, where you can't have anybody from any other state help you run for office because there's a requirement that you have to be a resident of Arizona to collect petitions to run for national office. There should be, by the way, one federal standard to petition to run for federal office...
...regime has gone to waste. Musharraf is a major liability in the War on Terror, yet the Bush Administration fails to see this and continues to provide him unfaltering support. However, Musharraf does not have any support in Pakistan, as evidenced by the strong anti-Musharraf vote in the Feb. 18 elections. If the U.S. continues to support Musharraf it will further alienate the people of Pakistan from the War on Terror and augment anti-U.S. sentiments. For example, in 1988, when Gov. Michael Dukakis won in a four-way primary with 33% of the vote - with Rev. Jesse Jackson coming second with 25% - Dukakis got 72 delegates and Jackson 67. To get the delegate count she needs to make a Texas win count, most observers believe Clinton needs a 60%-plus win; to get that, she must hope that...
