Tonight and tomorrow night the Glee Club will hold a trial of candidates for membership in which every man, who can sing at all, should compete. The club has been at some difficulty since the Faculty stopped its Christmas trip, in developing the best organization that the University can produce. Yet last year it was highly successful. This season it wishes to attain at least its usual excellence and in its endeavour to do so should receive from each student whatever aid he can lend. Those who can sing can best give aid by taking part in the trial tonight...
Beginning with the Glee Club trial on Thursday and Friday nights, the Musical Club swill begin their year's work in earnest, and make every endeavor towards turning out successful organizations whether the Faculty permits a Christmas trip or not. There should be an extra inducement for '00 men to try for the 'Varsity Glee Club this fall, inasmuch as the officers have decided that all Freshmen who show some ability at the 'Varsity trial need not be examined again for the Freshman Club. This arrangement will save considerable time for the Glee Club and worry for the candidates...

They both went to England on the Haverford eleven this summer and ranked second and third respectively in the batting averages of the trip. Adams, too, had the best bowling average and Scattergood was the regular wicket-keeper. Among other new men are Webster of the '95 Haverford eleven and O. Byrd '00, of St. Paul's School eleven.
