Last night on the eve of the great struggle between the University and Princeton this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Stadium, Coach Fisher announced his definite line-up but Coach Roper was still in doubt in regard to one or more positions on the Tiger eleven...
...Princeton position still most uncertain is that of right guard. Snively, the most experienced and capable of the Tiger linesmen, has filled the position throughout the season, but he received a severe injury two weeks ago in the Chicago game and may not be considered fit to start this afternoon. In that case Howard will take his place. Coach Roper announced that Gorman, the injured Tiger quarterback who is slated as the most capable pilot on the Princeton squad, will not be used unless absolutely necessary in order to save him for the Princeton-Yale game next week...
Coach Roper started the 1922 season with only four veterans: Captain Dickenson, Cleaves, Baker, and Sniveley; and with seemingly very little experienced new material. The situation appeared very discouraging. Yet daily the Tiger eleven has grown stronger, crushing every opponent, and finally showing a great streak of brilliance two weeks ago against the powerful Chicago aggregation. Last week when Swarthmore invaded the Palmer Stadium, the regulars were kept on the sidelines and the substitute eleven did not look so impressive.
